First Sunday after Easter: Rotharia

Rotharia (or Lakotes) is the feast of Our Lady of Lakkotianis, at Ysternia.

After the end of the church service, the pilgrims eat together in a common, rich table.

It’s time to fork(catch using their forks) and share with their loved ones, the Rotharia (small bouquets of flowers accompanied by a greetings card depicting Resurrection). In older times, the Rotharia was a tactful way for young people to express their love.
A feast with traditional instruments follows.

This custom resembles that of Love, but it seems to bring elements from the Flower Festival, three-day celebration of flowers in honor of Dionysus, in ancient Athens.
