MAISTROS TINOS. Maistros, carrying on a tradition from 1987 until today, is a landmark for the seafood flavors of Tinos as based on quality and honesty, offers real fresh fish. Giannis, the Maistro’s soul and former sailor never abandoned his great love for the sea. Famous on the island for his fishing skills, he keeps on spending most of his day at sea, fishing, calming down and enjoying the enchanting sea landscape of the island. An all-weather fisherman pulls his boat out of the tavern almost every day and unloads its “presents”. Meanwhile, his son Antonis, has taken care of the necessities so that fresh fish coming straight from the longline reach the plate the soonest possible.
The tasty approach of Maistro’s focuses on simplicity and authenticity, combining genuine and fine dishes with “homemade” warmth. Although the menu changes every day, depending on what Giannis catches, there are also dishes almost always present: “Kakavia” soup, skim in lemon oil, stuffed squid, the “marriage” (farfales with shrimp, mussels, squid and octopus), the “Bost” salad (with beans, zucchini and mushrooms). Sworn meat eaters will also find some meat options.
Entering the recently renovated interior of the restaurant, you will meet Giannis who runs the open kitchen and you will choose the local wine label that will accompany your fish.
