{"id":5661,"date":"2017-04-21T13:15:51","date_gmt":"2017-04-21T11:15:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tinosecret.gr\/uncategorized\/geography\/"},"modified":"2018-01-04T21:05:13","modified_gmt":"2018-01-04T19:05:13","slug":"geography","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tinosecret.gr\/en\/geography\/","title":{"rendered":"Geography"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5><span style=\"color: #1ab5c1;\">The geography of Tinos island<\/span><\/h5>\n<p>Tinos, with an area of 197 km\u00b2 is the third largest island in the Cyclades after Naxos and Andros, according to the Hydrographic Office of the Navy and the fourth one after Paros (according to the NSSG).<\/p>\n<p>It belongs to the northern Cyclades and lies between Andros, from which it is separated by the Strait (length 0.5 nm) and Mykonos, from which it is separated by the Strait of Mykonos (length 11 nm).<\/p>\n<p>Syros with Ermoupoli, the capital of the Cyclades, is 12 nautical miles, southwest.<\/p>\n<p>From Piraeus it is 86 nautical miles and from Rafina 62 nautical miles. Tinos is connected to both ports.<\/p>\n<p>Locals divide the island geographically to Outside Parts or Oxomeria (W and NW section from Kardiani and beyond) and Within Parts consist of the upper section (from Hatzirados to Dyo Choria and Myrsine) and Lower Parts (NE and central part, from Tarampados up to Kalloni and Volax).
