Aeraki Tiniako (=Tinian wind breeze in greek) blows in Volax, in one of the most picturesque and special villages of Tinos, which stands out for its impressive, characteristic granite formations and for its meticulous traditional settlement. There, just opposite the village’s stone theater, the traditional tavern “Rokos” operated for 25 years, became known to everyone and wrote its own history. The team who recently took over brought a fresh “wind breeze” with respect always to the history of the place. Both the balcony with the nice views and the interior space were renovated, while maintaining, the characteristic Cycladic color of the island and the mood of the famous tavern.
The philosophy of the cuisine is based on traditional recipes and the use of local products (meat, vegetables, cheeses, etc.), with a few modern touches that do not alter the simplicity that is sought. On the menu you will find appetizers with the aroma of Tinos, Tinian cheeses and kopanisti, tomato meatballs, fennel meatballs and the traditional froutalia (omelette) among others. For the main courses there are choices of stews, such as local goat in the oven, braised veal, stuffed tomatoes, while the experience of the roaster makes the roasts a strong point of the menu with specialties the liver and the ribs. The staff, friendly and always polite, is willing to help you with your choices.
The music choices are also cared while focusing on Greek music.
Aeraki Tiniako operates daily from 12:00 noon until late at night. It also remains open during winter (contact them for working hours).
A large parking lot right is available just in front (continue the alley that leads to the theater and passes in front of the central parking lot of the village).
A Tinian wind breeze will bring you to Volax…
