Tinos Habitart Living in Conept, Triantaros Tinos

Nikos and Chrysanthi, the owners, have created a small settlement near the village of Triantaros that includes vacation villas for rent and a group of neighbouring traditional buildings, where cultural events and activities are hosted.

Accommodation in Tinos Habitart

The private rental houses have dimensions and internal spaces that match those of typical island houses. The indoor and outdoor spaces are decorated with authentic traditional furnishings and incorporate artwork crafted by traditional and contemporary Tinian artists. A basket with fresh and handmade local products, herbs and distillates is offered to welcome our guests.

The self-catering rental villas are fully equipped with modern appliances for pleasant year-round accommodation and are functional for short or long term rental. Panoramic sea view, private swimming pools, natural stone architecture and ultimate comfort characterize the supreme style of Tinos Habitart’s vacation villas.

The complex of the traditional buildings forms an open-air folk museum. It includes a windmill and a dovecote – the island’s most characteristic architectural typologies, a renovated traditional hut, called “keli” in the local idiom (meaning “cell”), and an olive mill that houses original machinery used to make oil, wine and “raki” (grape distillate). The olive mill serves also as the exhibition grounds, where cultural events like art shows, concerts, theatrical plays and symposia take place. A nearby chapel decorated with frescoes completes the picture.

All the structures of the settlement are aesthetically uniform, but yet distinguished individually. Built by Tinian stonemasons, using exclusively local materials, they blend harmoniously with the natural Cycladic environment. This hospitable environment is created with love and attention in detail, for guests to enjoy high accommodation standards. We pride ourselves on the quality of our creations and we are therefore delighted to see that even local authorities designate them as fine examples of the island’s cultural heritage.

Activities

Guests in Tinos Habitart can enjoy free private cooking classes, guided visits to the traditional buildings of the complex and take part in hiking tours through the magnificent island landscape. Furthermore visits in ateliers and workshops of local artists are organised, as well as various excursions, giving the opportunity to discover first-hand the rich cultural, archaeological and religious tradition of Tinos.
