OMMA TINOS. As soon as you go down the steps of the main entrance and enter the space, you immediately realize the obvious origin of the name. OMMA (“eye” in ancient Greek), asit is built in an amphitheater that offers a dazzling view of Chora and the surrounding islands could not be called otherwise. The elegant Bar Restaurant in the heart of Tinos, is a recent arrival that quickly won the impressions. Its architecture, curated by 9-DESIGN, with references to the famous pigeon houses of Tinos, with elaborate compositions based on characteristic circles and triangles, raw wood and traditional pottery, harmoniously combines Cycladic style with Boho aesthetics.
As for the delicious part, the creative Greek cuisine is inspired by the traditional Tinian ingredients that are integrated with imagination, in dishes with modern techniques. “Choriatiki” (with cherry tomatoes, onion pickle, olive biscuit, feta cream, strawberry gel and oregano oil), “Moussakas” (dumblings with ground beef, eggplant, bechamel artichoke and burnt chives oil), fresh fish accompanied with zucchini puree, basil and fennel sauce) and panna cotta (from milk chocolate, strawberry gel, fresh strawberries in basil syrup and cocoa soil) are typical dishes of the chef’s philosophy. George Tsoukalas with many years of successful course in award-winning restaurants in Athens and Copenhagen, throws anchor for this summer in Tinos and signs the delicious identity of OMMA.
The bar and cocktails are always a strong element of OMMA! There, Panagiotis Kanavetas with a corresponding logic, was inspired by Tinos and using colors and aromas of the island (petimezi, tomato jam, artichokes, etc.) created a special cocktail list with a strong personality!
By the way if you find all this seems familiar to you, you guess right. The team of OLD DOG of Athens work in their in their favorite Tinos for the summer seeing the night life of the island through their own eyes (OMMA)…
